Artelia is leading the consortium to design and supervise construction of the fifth tram line in Montpellier.

Artelia is acting as lead firm in the consortium appointed to design and supervise the construction of Montpellier’s fifth tram line.

Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole (3M – the Montpellier urban area authority) and Transports de l’agglomération de Montpellier (TaM – the Montpellier urban area public transport authority) have commissioned the Artelia / Systra / Atelier Garcia Diaz consortium to design and supervise construction of the fifth tram line serving the Montpellier urban area.

The objective of the project is to create a link between the north (Clapiers) and the west (Laverune) of the urban area via the city centre. It includes 13 km of tracks, 25 stations, a new depot, ten engineering structures and five park and ride facilities. The line is scheduled to be commissioned in 2025 and expected to be used by 60,000 passengers per day.

A spokesperson for Artelia said: “We are very proud to be the lead firm for this outstanding project. The success of this high-quality proposal is testament to project team’s unstinting commitment and hard work over nearly a year.”
