POWER Engineers has named Claire Rutkowski as its new chief information officer, backfilling the position previously held by chief technology officer Keith Horn.

Rutkowski brings nearly a decade of CIO experience to POWER, most recently as the CIO at software developer Bentley Systems. At Bentley, Rutkowski helped shape and deliver a technology agenda across the business through global IT organisation to support the company and its users’ goals, something Horn said he hopes Rutkowski can do for POWER as well.

“It was a real homerun for POWER that Claire joined the team and we’re excited to have her on board. She brings a wealth of experience in the AEC industry, digital transformation and engineering solutions for our clients,” Horn said.

Prior to her work at Bentley Systems, Rutkowski served as CIO at engineering, construction services and consulting firm MWH Global. She also delivered IT strategy, services and support to 7,000 engineering professionals during her time at MWH Global.

Commenting on her arrival at the firm, Rutkowski said: “POWER has a great team in place and exciting changes are happening across the engineering industry. I’m looking forward to being able to help POWER transform into an engineering firm of the future.”

Rutkowski has received numerous industry awards, including being listed in the Top 80 CIOs You Should Know and the Top 10 Most Inspiring Women Leaders. She is a certified project management professional and has a degree in political science from Penn State University.

“I was drawn to POWER’s amazing growth and inclusive culture,” Rutkowski said. “I am thrilled to join POWER and contribute to its digital transformation goals and look forward to exciting times ahead, leveraging my expertise to drive innovation and success for our team and clients,” she said.
