Key acquisition to boost Artelia’s range of services in the building security area.
Artelia has announced the acquisition of Cabinet MTC, a general engineering and multidisciplinary consultancy firm with a centre of expertise dedicated to the design and monitoring of safety installations in buildings.
A major player in construction engineering with more than 9,700 employees worldwide, the independent engineering group Artelia is continuing its growth and consolidating its leading position in France in the building sector by expanding its range of active and passive safety services.
Thanks to its large scope of business and strong local presence in more than 40 countries, Artelia offers MTC the opportunity to accelerate its growth and highlight its expertise. Founded in 1966, MTC has been assisting its customers for over half a century with project management for all building disciplines and construction economics, structural, fluid and safety studies, works supervision, finishing studies and construction management and control assignments.
With a staff of 14, MTC relies on a multidisciplinary team capable of adapting to all types of technical and operational set-ups. With an international presence, the company has worked on projects such as the French diplomatic campus in Tripoli (Libya), the French Embassy and Consulate in Pretoria and Cape Town (South Africa), the Chanel head office, the Palais de Justice on the Île de la Cité and the Banque de France head office in Paris (France).
Security for buildings and their occupants is now a central concern and an integral part of the building design process. Meeting the specific requirements and constraints of each site by defining and then integrating all the systems needed to ensure the safety of the building, whether through physical or electronic measures, is now a key aim on building projects.
Commenting on the acquisition, Bertrand Berdoulat, executive director of Artelia, said: “This transaction is fully in line with our strategy of growth, diversification and strengthening our expertise. By combining MTC’s cutting-edge skills in safety with our recognised expertise in construction, we will be able to offer our customers comprehensive, safe and innovative solutions that meet the highest standards and comply with regulatory requirements.”
Cyril Ganvert, an ETP engineer and expert at the Cour d’Appel de Paris, said: “We are proud to join a group whose expertise and strategic vision are perfectly in line with the values that have always guided our development. By combining our specific skills in building security with the strength and reputation of a major player such as Artelia, we will be able to take on new challenges, while guaranteeing the continuity and quality of services for which we are renowned.”
