More than 200 Wood engineers from across the UAE, India and the UK are set to support major oil project over two years.
Consulting and engineering firm, Wood, has been awarded a contract to deliver the detailed engineering design for âPackage 5â of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Offshoreâs Lower Zakum Long-Term Development Phase 1 (LTDP1) project, located on Das Island in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The contract was secured from Target Engineering Construction Company (Target Engineering), the appointed engineering, procurement and construction contractor for this phase of the project.
Located around 65 kilometres north west of Abu Dhabi in the central Arabian Gulf, Lower Zakum Field is one of ADNOCâs strategically significant offshore assets.âŻThe LTDP1 project aims to expand and sustain production capacity of 450,000 barrels per day up to 2035.
Under this project, âPackage 5â facilities will include three new oil processing trains, including separation, a desalter, dehydration, oil stabilisation system, a new seawater offshore platform and other related utility facilities. Woodâs team of engineers will develop crude oil stabilisation mechanisms at Das Island, which will support the sustainable production of oil at the site until 2035.

Wood has previously completed a successful front-end engineering and design scope under Lower Zakum, following its work on ADNOCâs Early Production Scheme-2 project in 2024.
