Aurecon New Zealand make key strategic move with CEO appointment.

International design, engineering and advisory company Aurecon has elevated Tracey Ryan to chief executive, New Zealand, acknowledging her contribution to the ongoing strong performance of the New Zealand business and its strategic importance to Aurecon’s global network.

The new role sees Ryan join Aurecon’s group executive leadership team and play a wider role across Aurecon’s global businesses. Commenting on her promotion, Ryan said: “As an owner-managed business, we benefit from Aurecon New Zealand’s local ownership together with the opportunities that our global reach affords us. This ensures our clients have access to the right combination of global expertise and insight combined with local NZ market delivery and understanding.”

In the context of New Zealand’s current focus on deepening and strengthening international relationships and signalling to the world that it is open for business, the New Zealand chief executive role is a strategic choice, Ryan says.

“I’m looking forward to the enhanced opportunity to connect more broadly across our international businesses, while also helping to shape our direction and overall growth strategy. This will further enhance our ability to bring our clients in New Zealand the very best of our global thinking and capability – and share the expertise of our NZ team with the world,” Ryan said.

Ryan continues to contribute to the broader industry through her roles as chair of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers Sustainable Development Committee and as chair of Infrastructure New Zealand. She also acts as a voice for the broader New Zealand business community as chair of BusinessNZ’s CEO Advisory Group.
