Controlling salinity and drainage, creating water sources and deacidification, improving water quality and creating continuous transport routes.
Song Kien sluice is a grade II irrigation project including five gates with 10m clearance width on Kien river. The project included cutting a part of the sluice bottom compared to the traditional practice to not only reduce the construction cost but also increase the stability of steel sheet piling cofferdam and foundation.
The revetment wall solution formed by prestressed concrete sheet piles with anchors, applied despite the 6.5m difference of soil column. This helps to create more space for trees and paths and to build a beautiful park at the mouth of Kien river.
The location of the sluice is harmoniously arranged and linked with surrounding works such as boat landing. For the dome-shaped concrete pillars make it easy for people to recognise installations from a long distance, and leave an unforgettable impression for tourists when visit Rach Gia city.
By applying BIM – Building Information Modelling through Revit software to build 3D model, every change in the design was processed in a synchronous way. The subjects involved such as architecture, structure, mechanics, cost estimation were all connected at the same time to avoid unnecessary conflicts, and to increase productivity and quality of design documents.
