Peusangan Hydroelectric Power plant Construction Project

More than 20 years since the earthquake and tsunami damage in the Aceh province in 2002 the current development level of the region is behind the rest of Indonesia. Aceh province remains under reconstruction and development of the infrastructure including electricity is required to boost the region’s economic recovery. The Project is prioritized to contribute to improving the power balance of Aceh and North Sumatera Electricity System and its economic conditions. Various social programs have been carried and are running throughout the project which will continue during the operation. The activities include supporting local residents in red ginger seeding as a local commodity, supporting Aceh's local Enterprises in the Coffee Business, Tree Planting Programs to support reforestation, support to rafting activities as well as support for other micro, enterprises such as sewing and making local bags.
