Built in the capital city Niamey, the centre is a flexible and functional, state of the art facility, blended seamlessly into the city’s natural landscape.
The facility has capacity to host 3,300 guests together and is equipped with features that include a Presidential Block (385pax), Plenary Hall (2000pax), Multi-function meeting and Banquet hall (600pax), and an Administration and Ministers’ Block.
The MGICC was built in a limited time frame of 14 months, and it honoured the 150th Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth. The entire complex of the conference centre draws parallels from the culture, traditions, architecture, geographical topographical variations, national symbols, etc., of Niger to inform the design process and enable an identity to the building that is local in its feel, yet global in its experience.
