The first sugar beet processing plant in Egypt will source up to 45% of its feedstock directly from its own farm.
This integrated agro-industrial project encompasses the reclamation and cultivation of 181,000 acres, making it the largest agricultural initiative in Egypt since 1952. It also includes the construction and operation of the world’s largest sugar beet processing plant, with an annual production capacity of 900,000 tons of premium white sugar.
The project aims to achieve the highest potential yield of sugar beet globally by implementing the latest farming practices and modern technologies on our farm while providing agronomic guidance to neighboring farms. Our sugar production will bridge 100% of the gap between local consumption and production.
The integrated project will address the growing domestic demand by significantly reducing sugar imports by approximately 75%, thus substantially narrowing the gap between sugar production and consumption in Egypt. Additionally, it will create numerous employment opportunities during both the construction and operation phases.
