Experienced industry leader set to help speed up Aurecon’s drive for growth in Asia.

International design, engineering and advisory company Aurecon has appointed Peter Lee as its new senior advisor for Asia. Lee will be based in Singapore and report directly to Stephane Asselin, Aurecon’s chief executive for Asia.

Lee has almost 40 years of international experience in the civil infrastructure sector and prior to Aurecon he led Changi Airport Planners and Engineers (CAPE) as its managing director for around seven years. During his tenure at CAPE, he provided valuable strategic counsel and leadership that enabled CAPE to grow its international market share. Before CAPE, Lee spent 33 years at AECOM where he held several senior executive positions, including regional executive for South East Asia as well as chairman of AECOM Singapore.

In his newly appointed role at Aurecon, Lee will work closely with the Asia leadership team to accelerate the firm’s growth. He will contribute to shaping the company’s growth strategy and priorities, provide advice on value creation initiatives, leverage and grow market opportunities in the region, as well as strengthen existing client relationships and forge new ones.

As Asia’s dynamic economies continue to deliver strong growth, Aurecon is committed to growing its business and expanding its presence in the region. According to the Asian Development Bank, Asia’s infrastructure needs are expected to cost about US$26 trillion between 2016 and 2030 which equates to more than US$1.7 trillion per year. Lee’s appointment will boost Aurecon’s ability to capture this growth.

Commenting on Lee’s arrival, Stephane Asselin, chief executive for Aurecon Asia, said, “Asia forms one of the key pillars of our growth strategy. We are delighted to have Peter come on board as part of our leadership team. We look forward to leveraging his deep expertise, wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge of the region to unlock greater value for our clients and to expand our client base in the longer term. Peter’s counsel to our clients and our team will be instrumental in catalysing sustainable and profitable growth for our business in Asia.”

Reacting to his appointment, Peter Lee said: “I am thrilled to join an innovative company like Aurecon. With a knack for challenging conventions, Aurecon has been at the forefront of bringing game-changing engineering solutions to life. An inclusive, diverse and talented workforce is what sets Aurecon apart and will stand us in good stead to deliver unique value to our clients. Asia, being a dynamic region with huge potential, is in an exciting phase of development. Together as a team, I am confident that we will succeed in riding this growth momentum and expand our presence in Asia.”
