Annual conference of EFCA to discuss infrastructure resilience and emerging trends in the consulting engineering sector.
This year’s annual gathering of the European engineering consultancy federation EFCA has a key focus on resilience in the face of climate and security challenges.
The conference, which takes place in Istanbul on 4-5 June 2026, is being hosted by the Association of Turkish Consulting Engineers and Architects (ATCEA) and is expected to attract representatives from European member countries, stakeholder organisations, consulting engineering firms, academic institutions and local authorities from Turkey.
The conference theme of Rethinking Resilience: Rebuilding Europe to withstand climate and security threats will be explored in depth by thought leaders and practitioners who are expected to discuss forward-thinking perspectives on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Europe, with a particular emphasis on Ukraine. Additionally, the conference will address some of the most recent advancements and emerging trends in the consulting engineering sector.
ATCEA president Kerim Orhon said: “We are delighted to be welcoming delegates to this year’s EFCA GAM and Conference in Istanbul, a city that serves as a convergence of continents, cultures, and ideas. We look forward to discussions on the evolving role of engineering services in Europe, as well as the challenges and opportunities associated with energy, water and transport security during the event.”
The conference agenda includes important keynote discussions on Our Changing World: Europe’s autonomy, security and resilience where ministerial speakers will address some of the biggest challenges facing Ukraine, Turkey and south eastern Europe. Delegates will also have the opportunity to talk about Europe’s key infrastructure challenges and the implications for consulting engineers at an event that is always well attended by the European engineering consultancy community.
