With the acquisition of TransGrid Solutions, Ramboll enhances its green energy leadership in the North American market.
Ramboll has announced the acquisition of TransGrid Solutions, a Canadian power systems consultancy. The strategic acquisition strengthens Ramboll’s position in the green energy transition, enhancing its capability to deliver leading edge solutions in power systems worldwide.
Founded in 2002, TransGrid Solutions is recognised as one of the top consulting firms in high voltage direct current (HVDC) systems, with extensive expertise in advanced grid modelling. HVDC systems are used to efficiently move power over long distances, integrate renewable sources of energy, interconnect grids and improve power network performance.

Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, TransGrid Solutions consists of 25 power systems experts who have been involved in nearly 70 HVDC projects globally, including landmark projects such as the Trans Bay Cable HVDC transmission cable in San Francisco and the North-East Agra 800 kV multi-terminal UHVDC project in India.
TransGrid Solutions will integrate into Ramboll’s global power systems division, joining the company’s more than 300 power systems experts worldwide, helping empower the green energy transition and boosting grid resiliency. The combined team will continue to drive forward Ramboll’s strategic ambition to become the leader in the green energy transition in its industry.
