The first cable car network in Île-de-France – between Créteil Pointe du Lac and Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, opening up isolated, underprivileged communities in South Val-de-Marne.
Cable cars are a positive impact transport mode. This project extends over 4.5 km, calls at five stations and passes over urban barriers such as railway lines and a major highway to de-isolate several communities.
The infrastructure comprises 33 pylons and cabins travel at heights of between 4 and 40 metres and have 10 seats. Headway is 30 seconds. The line is designed to carry 11,000 passengers per day, and will be fully accessible to people with reduced mobility. Total journey time is 18 minutes, a significant improvement on the present bus journey times of 40 minutes. Commissioning is scheduled for 2025.
s a low energy transport system that emits little noise and uses little space. It is an economical, innovative and the only line of its kind in the Greater Paris region. It addresses low-carbon transition issues while meeting valuable transport needs for the communities it serves.
Numerous workshops were held to propose a project that would be attractive and inclusive, with a fully disabled-accessible service. It integrates into its urban landscape by minimising ground-level impact, provides immediate-access stations without E&M equipment and is ecological, with maximum water penetration, 430 trees and bushes and solar panels incorporated into the project.
